Reyna Benavides for Muskogee County Assessor
Vision for tomorrow. Together
About
My name is Reyna Benavides, and I'm proud to call Muskogee County home. I was born and raised here, attended Muskogee Public Schools and Connors State College, and I've built both my career and my family right here in the community I love.
For the past seven years, I've had the privilege of working in the Muskogee County Assessor's Office, where I currently serve as First Deputy. During that time, I've gained hands-on experience in every aspect of the office and have helped improve many of our day-to-day operations. One project I'm especially proud of is helping modernize our mapping and property data, making it easier for departments like our fire districts and schools to access accurate property and jurisdiction information.
Being bilingual has also allowed me to better serve the people of Muskogee County. I believe everyone deserves to understand the assessment process, their property value, and the notices they receive, regardless of the language they speak.
The County Assessor's Office plays an important role in our community. The work we do helps ensure schools, emergency services, libraries, and other local organizations receive the funding they depend on. It's a responsibility I don't take lightly, and one that requires experience, accuracy, and a commitment to serving the public.
Outside of work, I'm a wife and the proud mom of two young boys. My husband and I are raising our family with the same values we were raised on, faith, hard work, accountability, and serving others. Those values guide me not only at home, but in the way I approach public service every day.
I'm running for Muskogee County Assessor because I believe experience matters. I'm ready to continue building on the work we've done, keep the office running efficiently, and ensure every taxpayer is treated fairly, professionally, and with respect.

My values
What I stand for
Experience
For nearly seven years, I've worked in the Muskogee County Assessor's Office, learning every part of the job, from property valuation and state compliance to serving taxpayers every day. Experience isn't something that can be learned overnight. It's built through years of dedication, and I'm ready to lead from Day One.
Integrity
The law should apply equally to everyone. As your Assessor, I will continue making decisions based on facts, fairness, and Oklahoma law, not politics or special interests. My commitment is to protect every taxpayer by ensuring property is assessed accurately, consistently, and transparently.
Service
I'm not a career politician. I'm a working mom, a lifelong Muskogee resident, and someone who believes public service is about helping people. Whether you're a homeowner, farmer, or business owner, you'll always be treated with respect, honesty, and a willingness to answer your questions.
Protecting Your Values
As your Assessor, my responsibility is to protect the integrity of our property tax system while ensuring every taxpayer is treated fairly. I'll continue working to keep the assessment process transparent, consistent, and focused on serving the people of Muskogee County, not politics.
